01 / Overview

By utilizing electrostatic induction and tip discharge effects, objects can be continuously charged with high voltage, generating tens of kilovolts of high voltage for discharge demonstrations. As a conductor, when the human body comes into contact with a charged body with high static electricity, it will also sense an electric charge. The tips of the hair will stand upright due to the accumulation of the most electric charge and the repulsion of the same sex.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Static electricity is a type of charge that is in a static state or does not flow (the flowing charge forms an electric current). When charges accumulate on an object or surface, static electricity is formed, and charges are divided into positive and negative charges, which means that static electricity phenomena are also divided into two types: positive static electricity and negative static electricity. When positive charges accumulate on an object, positive static electricity is formed, and when negative charges accumulate on an object, negative static electricity is formed. However, whether it is positive static electricity or negative static electricity, charge transfer occurs when an object with static electricity comes into contact with a zero potential object (grounded object) or an object with a potential difference from it, which is the spark discharge phenomenon we see in daily life. By utilizing electrostatic induction and tip discharge effects, objects can be continuously charged with high voltage, generating tens of kilovolts of high voltage for discharge demonstrations. As a conductor, when the human body comes into contact with a charged body with high static electricity, it will also sense charges. The tips of hair accumulate the most charges and are in the same polarity.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against a real exhibit list, not per-square-metre guesses.
