01 / Overview

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a graphical representation obtained by amplifying and recording the spontaneous biological potential of the brain from the scalp using precision electronic instruments. The EEG instrument records the spontaneous and rhythmic electrical activity of brain cell populations through electrodes placed on the scalp. The brain activity patterns recorded by electroencephalography not only indicate the localized or diffuse pathological manifestations caused by brain diseases such as epilepsy, tumors, trauma, and degenerative diseases, but also have diagnostic value for central nervous system changes caused by extracranial diseases such as metabolic and endocrine disorders and poisoning.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Brain waves are biological waves formed by the sum of postsynaptic potentials of a large number of neurons during brain activity; Electroencephalogram is a detection method that uses electrophysiological indicators to record brain activity. It records the changes in electrical waves during brain activity, which is the overall reflection of the electrophysiological activity of brain nerve cells in the cerebral cortex or scalp surface. The brainwave originates from the postsynaptic potential of dendrites at the top of pyramidal cells. The formation of synchronous rhythms in brainwaves is also related to the activity of non-specific projection systems in the cortex thalamus. EEG is the fundamental theoretical research of neuroscience, and EEG monitoring is widely used in its clinical practice applications.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against a real exhibit list, not per-square-metre guesses.
