01 / Overview

In history, there have been significant differences in climate conditions between different periods and today, indicating that the climate is constantly and slowly changing. Natural substances such as tree rings, ice cores, and stalagmites are highly sensitive to climate change during their growth or deposition, thus recording past climate changes. Scientists refer to these natural substances as high-resolution climate change records and use them as substitutes for real data in paleoclimate change research, i.e. replacing actual data as proxy information.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

The climate conditions in different periods of history have shown significant differences compared to today, indicating that the climate is constantly and slowly changing. Natural substances such as tree rings, ice cores, stalagmites, etc. that grow or deposit in cycles according to age or season, due to their sensitivity to climate change, record past climate changes during their growth or deposition process. Scientists refer to them as "high-resolution climate change records" and use them as "substitute data" for the real data needed in ancient climate change research. Ice core: If the dust content in the ice core is high, it indicates that the climate during this period was cold, with a large amount of seawater freezing and reduced precipitation. Due to drought, a large amount of dust in the atmosphere was carried to the polar regions. Tree rings: Under warm and suitable climatic conditions, tree growth accelerates and the rings are wider; If the climate is cold and harsh, tree growth will become slow or even stop, and the annual rings will be narrower. stalagmite:.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against a real exhibit list, not per-square-metre guesses.
